Applications are being taken for the position of High Voltage Technician, Class 1. This is a full-time, non-exempt position in the Public Works Electric Department with an hourly pay rate of $56.81. A General Summary of job responsibilities include perform duties under direction of the Electric Supervisor, perform all construction, scheduled and emergency maintenance and repair on Primary and Secondary electric distribution lines, street light, traffic signals, electric meter and electric utility wiring from the main electrical service to all related components. Be able to determine and correct problems affecting all areas of the system including software applications and controls with no supervision. Perform duties and responsibilities of public works services maintenance worker as needed including streets maintenance and repair, parks and grounds and building maintenance.
Requirements
An example of acceptable qualifications for this position is a high school degree, or the equivalent, a minimum of 5 years experience in electrical distribution systems including experience as a first class lineman on both overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems or equivalent classification or approved apprentice program. Possession of a valid PA State Class B driver’s license; certifications in NFPA 70 E ARC Flash, CPR, AED, Pole Top and Bucket Truck Rescue.
