Join our team as a Damage Prevention Field Technician and help protect essential underground infrastructure while ensuring public safety. This is an excellent opportunity to learn a valuable trade, receive on-the-job training, and build a strong foundation in the utility and construction industry. Key Responsibilities
- Visit active job sites to observe digging activities and ensure all safety procedures are followedWork directly with homeowners, contractors, and utility crews to promote safe digging practicesLearn to identify and mark underground utility lines using company tools and technologyAssist in verifying and updating utility line markings as neededMaintain accurate records of site visits, communications, and activities using company toolsPerform routine checks to confirm marking accuracy and compliance with safety standardsMaintain assigned tools, equipment, and vehicle through regular care and upkeepRespond to job site requests and support teammates during time-sensitive situationsContribute to a safety-first culture by following best practices and working collaboratively with your teamTake on additional responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor while growing in the role
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in utility location/damage prevention is preferred Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learnGood communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work independently in the field, problem-solve, and adapt to changing conditions on job sitesValid driver's licenseFamiliarity with 811 dig laws and safe excavation practices is preferred, but training will be provided
